This will be an extremely challenging holiday season for many B.C. children.
How many? An estimated 43,000 children live in poverty in this province. Enough young people to fill the seats inside Rogers Arena more than twice over.
Low-income families are hardest hit by rising grocery bills and escalating rents because they cannot cutback on already minimal purchases or dip into savings to help pay the bills.
These are dark days indeed for many of our neighbours and your contribution will help brighten the lives of people like those we will feature during the campaign in newspaper stories and online at theprovince.com.
The Province Empty Stocking Fund — the oldest newspaper Christmas charity in Canada — needs your help to bring a measure of joy and hope to the neediest at this time of the year and we invite you to consider donating to our campaign.

Our thanks to those who can help continue this annual tradition of caring.
A special thanks to the companies and organizations — from the Vancouver Canucks to Rogers Sugar and Kuyer & Associates — that selflessly heed the fundraising call every year and remind us what it means to be connected to community.
We wish you and your family the very best through the holidays.
Donated funds are administered in partnership with the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.
